Dear Brethren,
Greetings!!
We are happy to report:
PIBS-Aklan Bible class was successfully held last week in Tangalan Aklan. We let our boys do the talking this time as part of there training. They deliver sermons on the 4 nights Gospel meeting we organized along with PIBS. My task was just recapped what they have said after. It was enjoyable and we love it. One soul became obedient to the Lord’s call in person of Jose Magbanua.
No other brothers’ instructors came from other cities; Bro Montoyo postponed his trip because his wife was due for delivery a new baby. Bro Merare underwent eye surgery and Bro Reuben was busy with his campaign trip in Negros Island. We only held classes in the afternoon. In the morning we did carpentry works to finish some portions of the meeting house, erected temporary sleeping shelter and hanged the church little sign board.
We are planning holding another out of town PIBS-Aklan session. There is invitation from brethren in Cabatuan Iloilo for us to organize Bible classes in one of their neighboring town where they plan to do door knocking campaign. We might schedule the classes there this 3nd week of March.
As mentioned earlier, one more precious soul was immersed into Christ last Friday morning in Tangalan Aklan. Jose Magbanua is the father of Sister Darlene Serino; they own the place where brethren in Tangalan meet for worship very Sunday afternoon. Though Bro Jose was a member of Pentecostal church then, he is always sympathetic with the church. He attends services and Bible studies we are conducting in every opportunity he could get. He offered his property for the use of the brethren in Tangalan. One portion of the lot around 55 square meters is pledge for chapel. Please continue to pray with us for the growth of this outreach. Many folks around the community (Dapdap Tangalan) are well aware of the church presence now that services continue every Sunday; and when they read the little sign that says: Church of Christ Meets Here”. We also acquainted new friends round about the fishing village.
“What is the Church of Christ?” tract in Filipino is available for distribution. We are using this reading material in door knocking activities and personal evangelism. We distributed around 200 pieces last PIBS-Aklan during a house to house call last week. Many people are asking what this “new” religion is all about, but we simply answer with love that the church isn’t “new”, it could only be found in the New Testament. Now they could be more informed with the help of this small literature.
The Gospel of Christ DVD broadcast materials has arrived. It is a complete set of valuable lessons from almost all of the New Testament. The Soul Saving Series is amazing! Ben Bailey is admirable. We are praying that the cable TV broadcast will be materialized as soon as possible. We feel that this is one of the best ways to reach out closed doors of honest truth seekers. We appreciate so much the faithfulness of the TGOG in Ardmore Oklahoma for sending us these DVDs.
On Bacan Banga outreach efforts. We did the first worship services in this village last two Sundays ago. Meetings shall be held alternately in two places as planned. Currently we are using the home of Relado family in Pavement block, next month the services will be held at Sis Josefina Dela Cruz's place at Bacan High School block. Time of worship is 4:30 PM that is after the services held on two places Batan and Tangalan. We are doing these efforts to serve families who are missing opportunity to come to Kalibo for fellowship in Sunday morning due to some hindrances like fare hike, some of them would commute and alight 3 times to go to Kalibo. But on the third Sunday of each month these brethren are trying their best to congregate at Kalibo, making the fellowship on this particular Sunday more blissful and happy. We have experienced this just last Sunday, the worship hall was filled with brethren and visitors joining hearts and minds offering worship to God. I feel that we were not really spreading thin as others may think, we are spreading to nurture and indigenously, members on these outreaches could add others to themselves by their own little ways. Kalibo is reaping benefits every month in terms of attendance and morale. A little bit tiring activities for minister and co-workers but it pays. Glory be to God!!
Brethren, let me reiterate our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and prayers and for laboring with us in this ministry. May Lord’s helping hand keep you all safe and protected as always.
In His Service,
Sammy and Janel Sinco
