November 30, 2006
Dear Brethren,
Greetings from Kalibo Aklan Philippines!!
We are happy to report:
On PIBS-Aklan November Classes:
Seven students were present including our four “local scholars”. Two regular students were not able to attend, Lindy Francisco is still in Metro Manila and Santiago Camerong got sick. The additional three came from San Miguel Iloilo lead by Nathan Arellano. Bro Nathan is a B.A. graduate from Cebu Bible College. He expresses desire to attend and volunteer to help teach at PIBS, he wants to continue refreshing his mind with the Bible. His congregation will be sending young people to participate monthly classes.
We studied three books for this month’s session, a continuation of Romans and James and finished the book of Jude. Co-instructors Bro Montoyo and Bro Garovillo were present. We appreciate so much the efforts for sharing with us their talents in teaching Bible to our learners.
At the end of the week the students went “field work” which resulted to enrollment of six individuals to study Seekers Bible Series (local BCC- Bible Correspondence Course). More than 300 tracts and BCC flyers were distributed by these brethren. Study guides and relevant reading materials were immediately send to the “seekers” with prayers that they will continue corresponding up to the last lessons.
December Classes will be Integrated with Panay-Negros Youth Camp:
The host congregation and organizers of the camp's program made arrangements with us to include Bible classes for the upcoming event this December 27-29 in Passi City Iloilo. PIBS students will be there and some of our young people – a holiday treat for student's and youth to enjoy each other's fellowship and study God’s word.
Special subjects will be thought. We are preparing lessons on “Christian Behavior” using as reference the study guide of Hillery Motsinger."Leadership Workshop for Youth" shall also be included. We will try our best to make PIBS classes fun yet educational for most of the young people who would be participating. Please include this project in your prayers.
Other Development:
Outreach services, home Bible studies, home devotionals and, meetings continues.
We are studying the possibility of holding another Sunday afternoon worship services in Banga at the place of Sis Relado. Her family and the other members, Lyn Orquiola and Elma Carpio are hindered to fellowship often with the church in Kalibo because of the rising cost of transportation fare. They must make three commutes just to go to Kalibo. We will try to divide the tasks among our men each Sunday afternoon. They would go in three groups, one group to Tangalan, the next one to Batan and the remaining one to Banga. Through these ministries our young co-workers could apply things they have learned, we have been holding 5-days monthly Bible school for almost a year now. More or less they are already equipping fairly with Bible knowledge, given these opportunity and direction by God’s help, we feel they can deliver. Please pray with us for their progress.
Brothers, again, we would like to express our gratitude for your support, prayers and encouragements. We thank God always for you for the overflowing kindness and love you have for the cause of Christ.
In His Service,
Sammy and Janel Sinco
