Dear Brothers,
Greetings to you all!!
We are Happy to Report:
The PIBS-Aklan first meeting last week may not be at par in attendance than other Bible schools. But the interest and hard work that everybody has shown was great. Bro Reuben taught Bible Survey and Pentateuch with zeal and dedication six hours daily for 5 days and one hour Music class each evening. Students work hard on their exams, which ! they passed, with high scores. We ran errands and purchase stuffs for the kitchen. I teach in the evening class on the fundamental gospel subject called, “Things Pertaining to Salvation”.
Three out of 5 stipend receiving “scholars” attended full time classes, Lindy Francisco, Clyd Ursua, and Christian Paclibar. The other two, Donato Santiago and Marlon Dorado attended the evening class only because of their work at daytime, which they can’t leave yet. One brother from Passi Iloilo, Mike Palmares joined and counted as regular student. There were four “sit-ins” attending morning or afternoon sessions, Glenda Paclibar, Cristeta Reloj, Janel Sinco and Jose Magbanua, father of Sis Darlene Serino, a Pentecostal who is a seeker, and he helps in the kitchen also. A total of ten attendees in all. Next PIBS schedule will be on February 13, 2006 and we are praying for more students to come and study.
The congregation’s new year “thanksgiving” held last January 8 was well attended. Friends, brethren and people we labor in the Word came to share the happy fellowship. Special foods were brought in and served. Five infants born to members were presented and offered with many gifts. A short yet memorable “Baby Shower” service was observed along with the celebration, emphasizing the importance of Christian parenting and the role of the church in nurturing a child in the ways of the Lord. Prayers were sweetly said and nicely made “Baby Shower “ certificates were also distributed.
In connection with this event, Joseph Chen together with his wife and 3 years old son Joshua came to worship after years of absence in the church. They are now coming near into restoration, we hold a regular Home Bible Study at their hardware store every Sunday evening.
Joseph is a Chinese national, became m! ember of the church, he was able to understand the gospel and obeyed it using a diglot New Testament (Chinese-English). It was and is quite a hard work with him every study, but we are praying that his wife and a brother in law would be obedient to the Lord’s calling.
Brothers, this is all we could tell for now. Thank you so much for your encouragements and support. May the Lord God bless you always.
In HIS Service,
Sammy and Janel Sinco |
