Matthew 4:18-22
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him.
Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. |

Country Background
Formed from the merger of the British colony of the Gold Coast and the Togoland trust territory, Ghana in 1957 became the first sub-Saharan country in colonial Africa to gain its independence. A long series of coups resulted in the suspension of the constitution in 1981 and a ban on political parties. A new constitution, restoring multiparty politics, was approved in 1992. Lt. Jerry RAWLINGS, head of state since 1981, won presidential elections in 1992 and 1996, but was constitutionally prevented from running for a third term in 2000. John KUFUOR, who defeated former Vice President Atta MILLS in a free and fair election, succeeded him.
Supported Missionary:
Francis Kojo Agyare
World Bible School P. O. Box 1240, Comm. 1
Tema, Ghana, West AfricaFrancis was originally a student of the World Bible School, being baptized into Christ, because of the word taught through WBS correspondence courses. He is a member of the World Bible School's Vertical Center in Tema, and has been a WBS follow-up worker since 1983. Francis works as a study helper to several thousand World Bible School students. He also works with other evangelists in missionary efforts to establish congregations of the Church in the central region of Ghana. This also involves him in follow-up teaching to these new congregations. He had been supported by several congregations here in the United States, all of who give a good recommendation as a faithful servant of the Lord. The Jersey Village congregation and individual members have been giving occasional support to brother Agyare since 1996, which includes WBS materials, postal expenses, missionary assistance, and a bicycle for transportation. In November 1999, the Church of Christ in Jersey Village decided to begin providing financial support to Francis on a regular monthly basis.
We continually pray for the success of the ministry in Ghana, for Francis and his family, and the members of the Church there. God bless!
