Proverbs 4:1-13

Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding. I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.

When I was a boy in my father's house, still tender, and an only child of my mother,

he taught me and said, "Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live.

Get wisdom, get understanding;
do not forget my words or swerve from them.

Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.

Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

Esteem her, and she will exalt you;
embrace her, and she will honor you.

She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a crown of splendor."

Listen, my son, accept what I say,
and the years of your life will be many.

I guide you in the way of wisdom
and lead you along straight paths.

When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.

Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.

Group Bible classes are offered for both adults and children (infants through High School). The classes are offered on Sunday morning  and Wednesday evening. The classes are taught by qualified members of our congregation and are all held at our building.

Sunday

From the Heart of David

Our pulpit minister, Micky Bell, leads this study from the book of Psalms.  Micky uses PowerPoint each Sunday morning to lead an open discussion on various attitudes of the human heart.  David shares through his psalms glimpses of his own heart, qualities that demonstrated his relationship with God. Those who participate in this study will come away with a deeper understanding of the kind of heart that God desires in His children.

The class leader is Micky Bell.
The class meets in the auditorium.

Twelve Ordinary Men: How the Master shaped his Disciples for greatness, and what He wants to do with you

We will take a fresh look at the apostles, noting they were hopelessly human, remarkably unremarkable, but available and obedient to the Master’s call. There is no greater story of transformation than the change Jesus made in the lives of His twelve chosen apostles. Jesus chose ordinary men – fishermen, tax collectors, political zealots – and transformed them into a force that forever changed the world. What happened in their lives is what must happen in ours as well. If Christ can accomplish His purpose through the lives of common men like these, imagine what He has in store for you. In addition to our Sunday morning class, we will attempt to occasionally meet in our class member's homes as possible in order to get to know and love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ.

The class leader is Phil Uhrhan.
The class meets in the RM 110.

DISCUSSION CLASS— “That You May Know; Studies in the Letters of John”

The world continually questions the validity God’s love and His will for us.  Some deny the deity of LORD Jesus.  Others deny His humanity.  Apostle John’s “Epistle of Love” combats these fiery darts of doubt by showing us that we can be confident in our walk with God and that we may know that we have eternal life.  Studies in the Letters of John will reaffirm our faith and help us overcome the world. “In this the love of God was made known to us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into this world, that we might live through Him.…  For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.”

Wednesday Evening Classes

AUDITORIUM CLASS – “How to be the Church”
Come and study with our pulpit minister, Micky Bell, as he leads this midweek bible fellowship. Micky uses PowerPoint effectively each Wednesday night to help the audience to participate and to understand God’s word on a personal level. In this study the student learns what it means to be a member of the Lord’s church. Emphasis is placed not on “going” to church, but on “being” the church! Study what the first century Christians were taught, what they did, and how they did it. The idea is, “If we can believe what they believed and do what they did, then we can be what they were…the Lord’s church.”

MEN’S CLASS - "UNDERSTANDING STEWARDSHIP"

In the next several weeks we will focus our attention upon the subject of stewardship. Our goal will be to seek to understand the biblical principle of stewardship as it relates to us as Christians. As Christians, we need to see that the concept of stewardship must become an integral part of our everyday life. We are stewards of Christ & as stewards we must be faithful to our calling.

Young Married

Our study of the Book of Genesis will focus on the incredible events of creation and on the lives of the major figures of early human kind. We will focus on how God's plan for mankind can be seen from the very beginning and how the lives of such great men as Noah, Abraham, Jacob and Joseph can still serve as an example to us and show us the will and purpose of God in our lives even several thousands of years later.
